BuzzLine – Week 14 – Sharknado Shenanigans!

The Buzz Bin thanks Account Coordinator Tommy McPhail for today’s BuzzLine.

Shout-out to Joanna Fultz for her winning entry to last week’s call for royal baby advice! Curious as to what her answer was? Check out Joanna’s (and all the other responses) here!

For Week 14, take a bite out of social media’s latest success (?) story for some crustacean-free coffee!

…and yes, you read that title right.

Last week, Twitter erupted into a frenzy over the release of SyFy’s Sharknado, a straight-to-TV B-movie about a tornado of sharks wreaking havoc on Los Angeles. (What else?!) Thanks to a social media surge (387,000 mentions across social media platforms with nearly 5,000 tweets per minute at its peak), SyFy has already greenlit a 2014 sequel, giving fans the chance to tweet ideas for the new film’s official title using #sharknado.

In the spirit of SyFy’s brand slogan ‘Imagine Greater,’ stretch out your sea legs and give us your most extreme Sharknado six-word-subtitle in the comments below.

How about Sharknado 2: The Dynamite Dolphin Disaster? Or maybe Judgment Bay: The Wizard of Jaws? No terrifying creature/ridiculous weather combination is out of bounds!

As always, the winner (as judged by our in-house panel of shark experts) will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card. Think of it as your first potential perk on the way to ‘TV Movie Title Technician’ fame! Also, share your response on Twitter using #sharknado, and your entry could be seen by over 1.5 million fin-fans next year!
